The prismatic lens concept can be found in any ophthamological textbooks. It comes with a varying degree of power, and has been recognised in the optical field to reduce convergence demand of the eyes.
Until now prismatic lenses have sometimes been prescribed by optometrists to patients who complain of computer eyestrain symptoms, in conjunction with prescription to correct the eyesight in daily spectacle use. This has often come with a high premium in cost.
Relaxo is proud to be the first Australian company to develop, patent and manufacture CompuSpec with non-prescription prismatic lenses for ready market adoption.
CompuSpec is:
- Non-corrective - requiring no specialist adjustment or prescription. Just put on and use straightaway, with no side effects
- Neutral tinted - to reduce screen glare and provide UV-400 protection without distorting our natural color perception
- Made of high-tech polycarbonate materials - high impact resistant for safety, and supreme comfort at half the normal weight of traditional lenses
- Scratch resistant coating - for longer lasting extra protection
- Inexpensive - at significantly lower cost to prescribed prismatic lenses
- Conform to stringent Optical Quality Standards - AS2228.1 / AS2228.2 / CE EN
100% designed and developed in Australia, it is a proud result of Relaxo’s co-founder, Mr Henri Lee, a Melbourne Optometrist who first noticed an increasing trend in number of patients complaining of computer eye strain and has decided to do something about it.
After 10 years of researching and testing, Mr Lee and Relaxo have adopted state of the art techniques and manufacturing procedures to attain a distortion free product proven effective against computer induced eyestrain without side effects.
